Neighborhood Leadership Workshops
In addition to providing resource and referral services to residents, CPCA, Inc. also provides services to organization and grass root organizers to increase their capacity and the quantity of viable community organizations. The CPCA, Inc Neighborhood Leadership Workshops are held twice each year. The six week course increases the potential of the community based organizations and grass root organizers by increasing their organizational structure, their operational knowledge and potential for funding. The six week course and supplemental referrals included:
- Organization development
- How to develop a board,
- Fund raising
- Incorporation of a community organization
- Becoming a non-for profit organization
- Organization budgeting
- Grant research and grant writing.
The 2006-7 CPCA, Inc Neighborhood Leadership Workshops were conducted in collaboration with Citizens for NYC and were held at the New Creation Ministries Learning Center in East New York Brooklyn through the generosity of Reverends Tawana and Russell Seymour
